Our Story

The owner Eric Johnson graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science and Management in 2005. After working in the commercial and industrial construction industry on projects over $75 million he created Spicewood Land Clearing.

The company’s vision was to bring the large scale, cutting edge construction technology to a smaller customer-oriented company. In the Spring of 2009 the owner was working for a large general contractor and had different views of where the company could go. The owner created his own company and started off doing small hauling and grading jobs and kept getting more and more larger jobs. The plan is not to grow into a big business but stay a manageable size to better accommodate our customers.

We were coordinating with another contractor and at the beginning of the project Eric was asked to complete step 1 with less than 24 hours notice – and succeeded. He was patient, knowledgeable, and professional. His crew was also knowledgeable and friendly. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and the customer service was exceptional through the entire process. We have already recommended him to multiple friends for concrete projects.
